Accenture presents “Innovation Jockeys”, Powered by Yahoo! India Rules of Participation (“Rules”)


The “Innovation Jockeys” (the “Contest”) shall be organized and conducted by Yahoo India Private Limited and sponsored by Accenture India Private Limited ("Organizer") and shall be open shall be open for submitting the entries from 15th January 2012 to 31st March 2012 (both days inclusive) ("Entry Period").


1. Receipt of Entries and Eligibility
i. Entry will be invited through an online entry form as available on http://innovationjockeys.yahoo.net/ (“Contest Website”) and during the Entry Period the participants need to complete the online entry form and submit it along with the original idea related to ‘Exciting Everyday Innovations for 3 (three) categories (“Idea/s”).


ii. The Contest is open to all undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students in any stream and who are 18 (eighteen) years of age or older, who otherwise meet all eligibility requirements in these Contest Rules. The participants can be either (a) an individual; or (b) by teams of up to 4 (four) participants (a "Team") provided that each member of the Team meets these eligibility criteria and an individual participant cannot participate in more than one team.


iii. The nomination for the Contest shall be invited from 3 (three) categories as specified on the Contest Website (“Category”). The participant shall be entitled to participate in all the 3 (three) Categories, however, only the last entry submitted by the participant in each Category shall be considered for the purpose of selecting the winners. All Idea/materials presented must be original work, the ownership and all intellectual property rights in the same must belong to the participant.


iv. Entries will be accepted in English language only and the Presentations should be in ‘PPT’ or ‘PPTX’ format, in the template provided on the Contest Website and the maximum limit of the file size shall not exceed 10 (ten) MB.


v. Any incomplete/inaccurate entries or entry after the Entry Period shall be invalid and any entry after the close of Entry Period may be permitted only at the discretion of Organizer.
vi. The right to permit or restrict participation is at the sole discretion of the Organizer.


2. Incorrect Information
i. Organizer, has the right to substantiate/audit/verify the participants’ details/information as provided in the entry form or Organizer may seek any further document, as may be required to verify the participants’ details/ information. The participant must provide all supporting details requested by the Organizer to substantiate/audit/verify the information provided in the entry form. If such a request is made and the participant either fails or does not agree to provide the same, then the Organizer reserves the right to disqualify the participant from participation for the Contest.


ii. Determination of whether information is correct or not, rests with Organizer.


iii. If at any time, any information provided by any participant is found to be incorrect in any manner, then the participant will be disqualified for the participation for the Contest.
iv. If, after the conclusion of the Contest ceremony, any information provided by any participant is found to be incorrect in any manner, the participant will be liable to return the Contest and any monetary / non-monetary incentives provided as part of the Contest.


3. Short-listing
i. Upon receiving the entries, and from a period between 1st April to 10th April 2012, an initial jury of the Organizer will collate the list of entries and evaluate the same based on pre-defined evaluation criteria as specified on the Contest Website to determine nominees in each Category. These short listed nominees will be submitted further for the final jury evaluation.


ii. The decision of the above short listing is binding and final on all participants.


iii. Nominees could be contacted with further relevant information for the final round of evaluation.


iv. In the event no entries in a particular or all Categories meet the eligibility criteria for the Contest, the Category could be cancelled at the discretion of the initial jury or Organizer and the decision shall be binding on all participants.


4. Winner and Determination of Winners
i. Each Category of the Contest, will have 1 (one) category winner (“Category Winner/s”) and (1) one Grand Winner will be selected amongst the 3 (three) Category Winners as selected in the Contest (Grand Winner”).


ii. Accenture will select 1 (one) winner in each Category (if winner is a Team, then all the participants of the Team) amongst the participant that best integrates with one or more of the Accenture Tech Vision trends as specified in the Contest Website for Accenture Tech Vision Award (“Accenture Tech Vision Award Winner/s”).


iii. Yahoo! will also select one individual participant as a winner for “‘Yahoo! Digital Innovation Jockey Award (“Yahoo! Digital Innovation Jockey Award Winner”) for the most promising idea in the Consumer Internet arena. (Category Winner Prize, Grand Winner Prize, Accenture Tech Vision Winner Prize and Yahoo! Digital Innovation Jockey Award collectively shall be referred as “Winner/s”).


iv. The nominees in each Category will be presented to the group of persons / subject matter experts (“Jury”) for determination of Winner/s. Jury’s decision is final and binding on all participants.


v. The Jury will score and/or rank each nominee based on pre-defined evaluation criteria and the Jury final scores will be collated and tabulated to determine the Winners based on the weightage determined by the Organizer. The Jury reserves the right to enter a wild card nomination under any of the Categories at its discretion.


5. Prize
i. Each Category Winners (if Category Winner is a Team, then all the participants of the Team) will win an Apple Goodie Bag (“Category Winner Prize”) and the Grand Winner (if Grand Winner is a Team, then all the participants of the Team) will get a trip to Accenture Technology Labs, Sophia Antipolis, France along with Category Winner Prize (“Grand Winner Prize”).


ii. The Accenture Tech Vision Award Winner will win a trip to Accenture Technology Labs in Bangalore along with an Apple Goodie Bag (“Accenture Tech Vision Prize”) and Yahoo! Digital Innovation Jockey Award Winner will receive an Apple iPhone 4. (“Yahoo! Digital Innovation Jockey Prize”). (Category Winner Prize, Grand Winner Prize, Accenture Tech Vision Winner Prize and Yahoo! Digital Innovation Jockey Award collectively shall be referred as “Prize/s”).
iii. The Winner/s will be declared at the Award Ceremony be held between April-May 2012. The exact date and the venue shall be intimated to the participants via email that was submitted for the participation for the Contest.


iv. Accenture will sponsor the Grand Prize and the Grand Winner (either Individual or each participant of the Team, as the case may be) will be provided with economy class return air ticket from any city/state in India with an International airport to Sophia Antipolis, France and 3 (three) night hotel accommodation. Accenture will also provide the meals and local transport and airport transfers (excluding sight seeing) in Sophia Antipolis, France.


v. Grand Winner (either Individual or each participant of the Team, as the case may be), travelling to Sophia Antipolis, France shall be responsible to make his/her own arrangement for travelling documents such as passport, visa, foreign exchange etc. at their own costs and expenses, however, Accenture will provide the necessary support to the Grand Winner to secure the visa. The Grand Winner will have to make his/her own arrangement for any other expenses not mentioned in the aforesaid prize.


vi. This trip is subject to the grant of visa to the Grand Winner by France Consulate and the Organizer has no role in any manner whatsoever. In the event the Grand Winner are not granted Visa, then the Prize shall be forfeited and no claim of any nature shall lie against the Organizer.


vii. Accenture will sponsor the Accenture Tech Vision Winner/s and the winner/s (either individual or each participant of the Team, as the case may be) will be provided with economy class return air ticket from any city/state in India to Bangalore, and 3 (three) night hotel accommodation. Accenture will also provide the meals and local transport and airport transfers (excluding sight seeing) in Bangalore.


viii. The Prize shall not be transferable/ redeemable for cash. No request shall be entertained by Organizer in this behalf.


ix. Any statutory taxes, duties or levies as may be applicable from time to time, arising out/ in respect of such Prize, shall be payable by the winner of the respective Prize.


vi. Organizer shall not be liable for any loss, damage, theft, or any other mishap caused to the Prize after handing over the same to the winners of the Contest.
vii. The Winner/s or his/her legal heirs shall have no other rights or claims whatsoever against Organizer.


6. General
i. Entries protected under intellectual property rights or which are progressing towards such protection, are acceptable as submissions to the Contest. However, the Organizer shall not be held liable for the protection of any proprietary or confidential information contained in entry form.


ii. The Idea as submitted by the participant shall remain the property of the participant. Organizer has no intention of participating, or acting as intermediary, in the implementation of any Idea.


iii. The participant warrants and represents that it owns all rights, or has all necessary licenses, to use any and all Idea/s (and all constituent parts) they will be submitting under this Contest for judging, including without limitation all content, images, text, or other copyright material, trademarks, service marks, logos or any other intellectual property contained within its Idea, and can, upon request, provide written confirmation of such ownership or license to the Organizers. The participant further warrants and represents that all Idea/s are original and have been legally obtained and created, and do not infringe the intellectual property rights or any other legal or moral rights of any third party.


iv. The participant grants to Organizers and its affiliates, the right and permission to reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, broadcast, display, publicly perform, exhibit and/or otherwise use or reuse (without limitation as to when or to the number of times used), the participant’s name, address, image, voice, likeness, statements, biographical material and Idea/s (in each case, as submitted or as edited by Organizer, in Organizer’s sole discretion), as well as any additional photographic images, video images, portraits, interviews or other materials relating to the participant and arising out of his/her participation in this Contest (with or without using the participant’s name) (collectively, the "additional materials") in any media throughout the world for advertising and publicity purposes without additional review, compensation, or approval.


v. The participant waives any rights of publicity, rights of privacy, intellectual property rights, and any other legal or moral rights that might preclude the Organizers' use of the Idea/s or the additional materials or require the participant's permission for Organizers' to use them for promotional purposes, and hereby waives any claim against the Organizers' relating to the Organizers' promotional use of those materials; and


vi. The participant agrees to indemnify and hold the Organizers and their respective affiliate companies, directors, employees, agents and partners (“Organizers associates”) harmless from any and all claims, damages, expenses, costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) and liabilities (including settlements), brought or asserted by any third party against any of the Organizers' associates due to or arising out of the use of Idea/s or additional materials and/or in connection with participation in or winning the Contest.


vii. Organizer will not be liable for any inaccuracy, error or omission contained in any such copy, reproduction or publication of the entry form, the Idea/s or other materials submitted.
viii. The Rules are to be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India. All disputes relating to or arising out of the Contest shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction at Mumbai, India.


ix. If any manipulation (for example, any internet spamming or unsolicited emails, or any other conduct which Organizer believes is unfair or contrary to the spirit of the Contest) has occurred or if the Organizer considers there has been any attempt to rig the selection procedure, Organizer reserves the right to disqualify entries if it has reasonable grounds to believe so and reserves the right to change, cancel or suspend this Contest at any time.


x. The Organizer shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage that any person or organization may suffer as a result of participating or attempting to participate in the Contest, the Contest being withdrawn or its terms amended.


xi. The Organizer cannot and shall not be accountable / liable for any disruptions / stoppages / interruptions or cancellation of the Contest. The Organizer and its contractors cannot be held responsible for matters out of its control and for force majeure reasons.


xii. Decision of Organizer on all matters is final and binding on all participants and no correspondence will be entertained on the same.


xiii. Organizer reserves the right to alter the Rules of this Contest or terminate the Contest at its own discretion and without prior notice to the participant and without incurring any liability whatsoever.

Rules & Regulations

1.The competition is open to all Undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate students in India,who are above 18 years of age.

2.Submissions can be from individuals or teams comprising four members. However an individual cannot feature in two different teams.

3.All participants must possess valid Roll Numbers at their respective colleges. This information will be verified with the College Authorities, before the short listed candidates are announced.

4.Only one entry per challenge (Home/ College/ City) will be accepted from an Individual or a team.

5.Only original ideas will be accepted.

6.Participants will need to sign-up on the microsite to enter the contest. Please ensure that your email address is valid and in-use.

7.Presentations should be in PPT or PPTX format, in the template provided on this site. Maximum 10 MB file size limit.

8.Uploads will be accepted till March 31st 2012 only.

9.Shortlisted entries will be announced on the microsite at the end of the competition. Winners will be announced at the competition’s closing event.

10.Winners will be required to provide their passport and College ID for the prize collection; else they will forfeit the prize.
